This was our cover story for issue one but the podcast features extended clips of Chris Cook driving from the NOPI Los Angeles weekend. PRI just took place in Orlando, Florida and we were down at the show to check out what was going on. As we all know PRI is more historically noted for drag racing and circle track but Drifting had some representation out at the event.

In the MOPAR booth you could find Sam Hubinette’s 2007 competition car the Dodge Charger.  We cannot wait to see the Dodge Challenger that NuFormz is building.

Walking a few more aisles down you came across the Exedy booth which showcased the recent D1GP Champion’s car Vaughn Gittin Jr. in his Ford Mustang. This car was looking good but we were bummed Exedy didn’t roll out that elaborate Japanese street scene they had setup at SEMA.

Of course we headed to the HKS Booth and found the other domestic Drifting mobile in Rhys Millen’s Pontiac Solstice  next to NOB’s Mitsubishi Evo. The HKS booth had a great vibe going and had people looking at the Bridgestone/Redbull Solstice all day.

 We confirmed that Fast and the Furious 4 will have a plot involving Drifting once again, making it relevant to our culture. Here are some spoilers we have located around the Internet.

Set 1-Brian help the feds stop a heroin importer known as Braga. With the help of an informant named James Park, Brian - and ultimately Dominic Toretto - wins a place on the criminal’s team, where he - and his flashy Nissan - plan to catch the man red-handed. 

Set 2-In the previous films the cars were fast. It’s not until the fourth that we see the fury of these vehicles. Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto is back and he’s out for revenge against the Dynasty drivers for kidnapping his daughter. It began 4 years before the first film took place, Toretto’s back story is revealed and the connection between the Han Warrior Import Club is spiced up. We later learn that Doc has created a portal into the past bringing Toretto back to the future for a sequel to “The Fast and the Furious”, but not the same as 2Fast 2Furious it’s an alternate time line. Sit back and enjoy the thrill of a life time! I don’t want to reveal the movie, but let’s just say that the cars are fast, the good guys win, and they meet a lot of hot women along the way, and at the end have a ton of money. 

Set 3-Letty has been killed working for drug baron Antonio Braga. Brian, fresh from an undercover stint in prison, is out to catch the man responsible, and so is Dominic. Brian and Dominic go undercover as members of Braga’s drug transportation team.

4th story we found-

We just got a leaked press release set to come out tomorrow about Drift Alliance member Ryan Tuerck’s future in Formula D! The car Ryan will be driving is set to be announced at a later date but Gary Gardella is coming over from the drag racing world and looked upon as a leader in sport compact racing since 2001. The team holds two national drag racing championships, 2005 NDRA Hot Rod and 2007 NHRA Pro FWD. Their Redbull Dupont Chevy Colbalt Pro Fwd car holds the National ET record with a 7.15@209.5mph.
