Check out this installment of Bosch TV where we got to sit down with Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his Falken Tires Ford Mustang for an extended period of time. He walked through the whole machine with us and how it has grown since the 2005 season where he unveiled it. Take a minute to listen to Vaughn Gittin Jr. run through the Mustang and you will probably learn a thing or two about Betsey before she gets retired next week at Redbull.

Wrecked Magazine Issue 7 just came out and with the SEMA craze last week we want to spend some time now and tell you to go read this amazing issue. We covered Justin Pawlak’s great success as a rookie in the 2008 season. He is the first ever Pro Am driver to make a Formula D podium to date. We sat down with him for a great interview so don’t miss a second of it. Our designer Kevin shot me this today that he found on the Forza Motorsports 2 forum. The user cobratuner uploaded these work in progress of Tanner Foust’s 2009 Formula D car. Since only a render was released we feel this is a pretty close and cool mock up of his new drifting machine. In the forum thread cobratuner has posted some mocks of quite a few other Drifting machines as well, make sure to check them out.

Colin Frost provided us some pictures of the Lexus IS350 he will be piloting in the 2009 Formula  D series. He told us that while he has been focusing on the S13 recently they are going to start working hard on the Lexus very soon. He promised to keep us updated as the progression of his new project will move forward. So stay tuned to Wrecked Magazine!

I was able to grab Formula D president Ryan Sage for a moment to talk about how the new Am series will work for the 2009 season and he told us some really exciting stuff in this department for 2009. In a new effort for the 09 season Formula D is going to work with it’s tracks to make all the events two day open to the public venues. This becomes very exciting because they are going to have the Am events in house at the Formula D tracks. What this means from what we understand is the day before the Formula D main event they will have an Am event that will allow drivers to gain a license and drive over that same weekend. This is a great opportunity for Am drivers to get exposure, sponsors,  and be seen by fans.

Ryan cited this choice was mainly made by Formula D mainly because of the mass confusion this year with the Am series due to the multiple organizations and regions for drivers. This system is hard to follow and not easy to really get a grasp on. We at Wrecked Magazine can even attest to that as we have had problems getting coverage through this 2008 season. So we will stay on this story as more information will become available but from what it seems like drivers will be able to show up, get a license, and win the Formula D event all in the same week! Remember, that the 2008 West Coast Am event will take place over the Redbull Drift Championship weekend this week in Long Beach.

Following the cool trend of “declining” his invitation Fred Girard has said he won’t be attending the Redbull Drift Championship next week. Instead, Marcos Santos will be ripping apart the island in his General Tires Infiniti G35. As we are sad Fred won’t make it in his Hankook Nissan Skyline but we are very excited to see the dramatic and insane Marcos Santos on the course.

“I’m Killing It” Colin Frost has put away the S13 and is bringing a Lexus to come out and play. According to his PR (that has Wrecked Magazine images on it=awesome). The car will be at the 2009 Formula D Long Beach event making it’s debut. The powerplant has been announced to be a 2JZ-GTE which should be very exciting if they can get it tuned and running right. Colin had this to say about the project,

“I’m excited to get behind the wheel of the IS, Lexus makes great cars that have always impressed me in the past.”
