A long time ago in a drift world not unlike our own. A mechanic lived by the rules of the open road. Sleeping in dumpsters and eating at truck stops. Battling road ants and wrenching till he bled. Dave Shoemaker was this tireless road warrior. As you may or may not know Dave was the mechanic for the mythical albeit short lived “Team Snake Bite”. He was getting down and dirty keeping Ryan Tuerck and Tony Angelo’s privateer machines running.

At Jersey Formula D last year i saw him swap a transmission on the ground in like 20 minutes, in blistering heat. All this mayhem eventually caught up with poor Dave and he retired late in the 07 season. Packed up his belongings and shipped his life back home, To the East Coast. Manchester NH to be more specific.

Dave took a minute and tried to settle down and fell back into his old profession rather nicely at Spyglass Tattoo in the little town of Manchester.

Like most dudes in drifting i come to wrecked to see whats up with whats going DOWN! I figure these guys are everywhere they should know whats hot and whats not. I read all the interviews, I watch all the video’s ….. and there lies the problem. Did anyone catch this new Gushi/ Rogue Status video?

I tried.. I really did. I tried too not fast forward this video. I failed miserably. The first 5 minutes(yes first 5 minutes) ran like a fan’s video, but this fan had horrible ADD. I was left feeling confused and dis-oriented. It went a little like this.

Look its us, Look there’s some cars, Look its the voice of Formula D, Hey Drift Alliance, Some drifting going on over there, Some cars rolling around in the grid.

And then the second half came, Of this 12 minute video. It was a bunch of on car of Gushi in his scion TC drift car sponsored by Rouge Status. It was laid out like a training video.. Editing of said video seemed like an after thought. Im sure even Gushi’s Mom was psyched when this video was over. Cause i assure she is the only other person on earth that made it to the end.

I told andy that i really dont have anything going on in my life worth blogging about. He said i was a funny guy (thanks andy) and to come up with something to entertain him. I know when i need some entertainment i go to an old standby. A trusty confidant that has been funny all my life and will continue to be funny till the hand of god takes me away.

So slavik is new to video game .. this is his rookie season as a film maker. He covers most of the Clubloose Events but the work he did for ECB(east coast bash) is again fucking amazing. Can someone hire this kid for work.. He paints houses i think.. obviously his talents are being wasted. Just tell him i helped get him the job so he will still come back and film E-town drifting once in a while.

So August 16th was the day… if you missed it.. that was your problem.

People traveled from way too far converging on the driftastic road coarse nestled in the hills of Englistown Raceway Park.

I don’t think i ever had this much fun at a drift event before in my life. All that fun and i didn’t even drive.

Here are some internet Quotes i found on the event.

“My favorite part was probably the last half hour. Everyone went all-out. I was glued to the fence, with my ears ringing, dirt in my teeth and eyes, hacking on exhaust fumes and tire smoke. I kept hearing people say, “This is better then Formula D!”"

So you get the point. I am so happy to be involved in this event. I really want to thank the drivers who made the trek, the spectators for supporting grass roots drifting, Englishtown for letting this happen. Wrecked and all the other media outlets for covering the event, and beer troll for making the hike up from Florida. Here is my favorite photo i have found. The photo is kinda blurry and it kind of sums up the day. A blur of awesome!

So this weekend I’m gearing up for a ripping time at the E-town road course. Running events here at E-town for the past 6 years we have dreamed of using this road course more often. This is the first local event for the local drivers here at this AMAZING facility. We have run it tons of times before but this is the first real deal event for the normal Joe. So anyway we are gonna get this event underway sometime around ten-ish Saturday Morning.. It would mean a lot to me if you came out and supported grassroots drifting here at “The Gauntlet” (thats what Formula D called it..Yeah i don’t get it either). I have a sweet flyer we made in like 5 minutes. Post it around and tell people to come like your mom and dad.. If they are divorced this might be a good time to try and get them back together (i know you are still hoping it will happen).

Like i said spread the word. This event will feature the best drivers from Clubloose and we will have fun stuff to do besides drifting.. (its a secret come and find out.)

I made all these sweet posts about Nopi as well as some other drifting shit and so on. However, Wordpress never works for me. It wont let me upload photos, it doesn’t auto save, it errors and logs me out for no good reason. I want to turn wordpress into a dude and kick his ass. During this time o internet turmoil i ask that you hang in there. Be that supportive buddy i never had. Offer me words of advice and ego builders to keep me fromlosing my mind. Most importantly Cut and paste the links i give you. Cause, yeah that shit is broken too.

But anyway, Tony and I made an E-Blood oath to post more often, so here i am. I got a few to unload tonight and then i will keep you updated about things drifting and more importantly things not drifting. Dogs, guns, minivans and Diet Dr Pepper immediately come to mind. Well in keeping with my new found blog driven lifestyle here is pics of my dog Tate.. He also sucks at the internet.

We all converged on “Ye Olde” Dock Street Brewing company in scenic West Philly. PA has never seen a night as good as this one. The gentle breeze kept the smell of old urine from stinging your nostrils.

I got there early and hung with Andy ,the topics’s and a few others waiting for shit to get rolling. Sooner or later the crowd rolled in and the party got underway. Beers flowed like water and everyone got tipsy as we waited for the sun to go down so we could actually see the film playing on the wall. After we watched the film we had a 5 man 3 girl big American dance party. It was awesome..
Just want to tell Andy how good the film is and if you haven’t bought it yet you are retarded and need to be hurt with a spoon and a butane torch.
