DG Trials Nash Private Drift Event

So we had drift event in Nash. Man, it was awesome. The track rules. I cant believe no one else wanted to rent this track before. I guess they really didnt know if it will be good or not…..well, it was AWESOME. They layout is so sweet. Come in 3rd gear, hold the slide, and slow down a lot for the switchback turn. Connect the whole course. Fun for everyone!

Here is just a taste…you will have to come to the event to get the rest!

SEDA event…

So Blevins and I went down to Atl for the SEDA drift event at Turner Field. I left work at 330 and was gonna meet Blevins in Chatt. ( he gets off work same time as i do and takes him just as long to get there). He texts me when i am almost downtown chatt asking me where i was. I was thinking he already beat me and was waiting on me. WRONG! He was just leaving Knox. WTF?!?!?! So i had to waste time. Called up my boy Malik and went to go eat while i waited on the slow ass to get there. Finally we meet up and then he cant decide if he wants to go due to girl problems….(bitchesbecrazy). Finally he decides to go and we meet up with marty at R-speed. Marty was working on his car while i didnt do shit. Blevins decided to work on my car and rewire my gauges since it was a clusterFak. Was suppose to take 10 min but ended up 2 hrs…..glad he did it and not me. lol.

It was around 2:30 when we left R-Speed and got something to eat. We didnt go to sleep till 3:30 cause we started to watch SNL vids. (talk about one crazy night….NOT, lol)

Wake up at 5:30…got stuck in traffic due to paving…and hella tired.

Event was good but 2 cars hit during tandem……guy that got hit was bitchin that he got hit. It was pretty funny listening to him bitch. Its like dude, you’re the one that wanted to tandem with the other guy. No one made you do it. Accidents happen…..He was also mad that the other didnt offer to help.

Blevins and I drove back that night….and it was kinda hard. Thanks to Backus D (i have no idea how to spell it, lol, its korean energy drink thats hella good).

I had to get a windshield right before NOPI STL since it was cracked from when the car was getting tagged but when they put it in the first time, it cracked. It was a stress crack so they replaced it for free…but still pain in the ass for driving there and waiting for them put it in. Hopefully this one will last longer cause i have a dope ass sticker to put on the windshield…..i’ll keep you updated once i put it in.

Nashville Superspeedway Track Testing/Bike Racing

So Patrick and I went to Nashville Superspeedway to look at the track for an upcoming DG Trials event. We wanted to look at how we would do the lay out and so on. Man, that track is awesome… It’s crappy that no one has really rented it before for a drift event. It is a really fun course. I wanted to drive it but they had a bike competition going on so we really couldn’t do anything…just walk it.

The bikes that were there were crazy…motorcycle guys are CRAZY!

My new exhaust…err pipe

So the day that we left for NOPI St. Louis, I had to put a new exhaust on my car since my muffler that I had before was falling apart. My buddy Jake hooked me up with some 3 inch exhaust tubbing so I didn’t have to drive around all over place to find some or spend any money on it….

I like the way it sounds but not really the way it looks. I wanted to have oval DTM style thats angled up but with the limited time that we had I couldn’t really be picky.

And now NOPI enforced the rule about mufflers even though my car is EXTREMELY quiet! I guess I will have to cut it off and put the Apexi one that i have laying around. I really dont want to though…..

NOPI St.Louis

So this past weekend we went to St.Louis for the NOPI event. The trip started off crazy…you can read all about that on Marty’s Blog. Once we got to the track I started to get nervous because I was the new kid and didn’t really know what was going on and what I needed to do. Car past tech and I was waiting for my run group…smoking cigs as if they were going out of style since I was really nervous. My first run was terrible. I spun out. My second run was terrible. I spun out. My third run was terrible. I spun out. I was too nervous that I wasn’t myself, so for first half of the day I would spin out. I couldn’t get use to the track, the car since I got the new motor, and all the safety equipment (I never worse gloves and the neck brace felt like a midget was choking me at all times). Not to mention I was with people that are pros and awesome. They were rocking it as soon as they got their first run.

I was able to get advice from Patrick, my pit crew, Marty, Dennis, and Rob which helped me out. All I needed to do is have fun and not worry about anything. Rob told me what he saw and what I needed to change. That helped me out the most since he saw all my runs and had a clear view of them (Thanks Rob).

By the end of the day I felt more comfortable and could actually feel myself. I started to have lots of fun and wanted more and more runs so I could perfect it. Well I didn’t perfect it but I have learned a lot from my mistakes and new things. I am glad I showed up there even though I was the worst one there and people wondered why I was there in the first place. I was out there for fun and for the sport…no one should ever forget that.

After the event we stayed at this pimp hotel. James was able to hook us up.

The ride home was similar to the ride up there. I slept in my car in the trailer. It wasn’t as comfortable as the outback that’s for sure. I took the sleeping pill but kept waking up since it felt like they were running over the biggest possible pot holes. I would get air from my seat! After 5 or 6 times, I put on my seat belt and went back to sleep. We got home safely around 4am and I went to bed.

So, I am glad I went to NOPI and looked like an idiot since I learned a lot. Was able to hang out with my friends and meet new ones. It was awesome.

Next NOPI event for me is Ohio since I really can’t afford to go to all of them.

What’s up everyone!

My name is Adam but most of you know me as Struka. I drive an S14 that has gone through many weird cheap paint jobs so some of you might have seen my car when it was green/black, flat black rat rod style, and now grafitti. I live in Nashville but have been to many events in GA since we really don’t have much events in TN but we (DG Trials) are working on having more. I got my NOPI license in Nashville and now doing some of the NOPI series with my teammate Marty so I will keeping you updated about our crazy trips.
