GRIDLIFE Makes A Thrilling Return to Road Atlanta

GRIDLIFE returned to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the first time in six years, but this wasn’t just a comeback, it was a statement. Sharing the weekend with the second round of Formula Drift Pro competition, GRIDLIFE Special Stage packed their condensed schedule with full course drifting, the GRIDLIFE Touring Cup, the debut of SRX cars in the GRIDLIFE RUSH series, and a Time Attack grid that left broken records in its wake.

The iconic 2.54-mile, 12-turn circuit is known for its dramatic elevation changes and high-speed flow, and GRIDLIFE made full use of every inch to put on a show. Rain or shine, the legendary Road Atlanta crowd stayed locked in from the first sessions of GLTC to the finale of FD Pro.

As always, GRIDLIFE’s full course drifting stole the show. Formula Drift runs two cars at a time into the keyhole…GRIDLIFE sends a dozen. Seeing a train of grassroots cars dive down the hill that FD Pros had just battled on the night before was a spectacle in its own right. Local hotshots Top Garage threw down exciting team tandem runs, and a few Pro drivers even jumped into the mix.

Saturday’s sessions got wet, but the energy stayed high. Where else but GRIDLIFE do you get to see Matt Field chase down a Plymouth Satellite in his comp car? Or see a CRX leading laps in a modern hyper-competitive wheel-to-wheel series?

The GRIDLIFE Touring Cup ran a four race format, with 2024 series champion Matan Rosenberg taking the overall win in his C5 Corvette for the weekend. GRIDLIFE RUSH also brought the debut of the new SRX sports racer from Rush Auto Works, officially turning it into a multiclass racing series.

After six years away, the Track Battle Time Attack grid came back swinging. Series records fell, and then fell again, as drivers pushed well beyond what was possible just a few years prior. Full race results can be found here for those interested.

More than anything, Special Stage was GRIDLIFE doing what it does best: bringing life, color, and controlled chaos to every corner of an event venue and schedule.  From record-breaking laps in Track Battle, to rain ridden GLTC races, and a full course drift exhibition that felt more like a party than a demo.

GRIDLIFE Special Stage was the perfect counterbalance to the methodical precision of FD. Louder, looser, and full of character, this return to Road Atlanta felt like GRIDLIFE picking up right where it left off…and leaving no doubt that it belongs here for many years to come.
