Middlesbrough, UK – The dust has barely settled, and the tire smoke is still hanging thick in the North East air after a blistering Round 3 of the Drift League GB championship at Teesside Autodrome this past weekend. As always, Teesside proved to be a fan favourite, offering incredible elevated views of every brutal entry and pinpoint tandem battle.

The competition was fierce across both Pro Class 1 and Pro Class 2, with drivers pushing their machines to (and sometimes past) the limit on the technical Teesside layout. The stands were packed, the cheers were deafening, and the track was a canvas for some of the most aggressive and precise driving we've seen all season.

Saturday Rising Stars: Pro Class 2

Saturday belonged to Class 2, and the rising stars of UK drifting did not disappoint. Qualification saw some incredible runs from 13 year old Harry Cunliffe, youngest female driver Molly Kerr and championship leader Kieran Bond all laying down precise runs, along with a few new faces making a strong statement.

When it came to the tandem battles, though, the cream rose to the top. The battles were tight, with several One More Time calls keeping the crowd on the edge of the bank & their seats. Ultimately, the podium saw some familiar contenders, but some fresh talent also managed to break through.

Sunday Showdown: Pro Class 1 Puts On a Masterclass

Sunday brought the big guns out for Pro Class 1, and the intensity ramped up immediately. The top qualifiers laid down some breathtaking runs, showcasing unbelievable speed and angle through the entire judged section.

The tension was palpable as the Top 32 began, and every driver brought their A-game. There were massive initiation points, incredibly close proximity, and more than a few close calls with the dreaded dirt drop which had claimed some victims earlier in the day, including Matt “Matsuri” Smart in his MR PLOW 2JZ E46.

The semi-finals were a masterclass in controlled chaos, with drivers trading paint and leaving nothing on the table. The final battle was an absolute nail-biter, a true testament to the skill and dedication of these drivers. The crowds erupted with every transition and every bit of rubber thrown down by Harry Kerr & Nerijus Voliukvicius in the final battle!

Championship Shake-Up?

It's safe to say that Teesside threw a wrench into the championship standings, with Mark Brown failing to qualify and Jamie Stanton not making it to a podium.

The level of driving we saw at this round produced some significant movement up and down the leaderboard in both classes. Every point gained or lost here will be crucial as we head into the second half of the season.

The Drift League GB paddock was buzzing, with drivers like Clarke Hutton turning up with his Formula Drift ProSpec car. The drivers and teams are already looking ahead to Round 4 at Pembrey Circuit in August. If Teesside was any indication, the rest of the 2025 season is going to be an absolute banger.
